Research Seminar on Market-Based Methods for Environmental Protection

On September 11 EPA announced a research meeting to review progress on Agency-funded academic research related to market mechanisms for environmental protection.

The meeting will be held October 17-18 in Washington DC. Registration is free.

EPA's National Center for Environmental Research (NCER) and National Center for Environmental Economics (NCEE) are sponsoring a two-day workshop to discuss research being conducted on market mechanisms and incentives for environmental management. This workshop, to be held on October 17 and 18, 2006 at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC, will present research results from EPA Science to Achieve Results (STAR) grants, NCEE, other EPA offices, and universities. There will be presentations on the use of market mechanisms and incentives, such as trading programs, in the areas of air pollution, mobile sources, water quality, and Brownfields and land use. This meeting is open to all who are interested in this research area.
